Welcome to the Well

Life doesn’t stand still.  Life rushes… it pulls, it pushes, it prods.  Lots of times we end up running on empty.  We need more time, more energy, something deeper and more enduring to fill us and keep us going.

That’s what this blog is all about.  It’s here to be a safe space where you can gain solace, gain strength, and commune with the living God.

We all need sources where we find meaning and purpose.  For me, my faith is that source.  I am a Christian- I find my deepest sense of belonging as a follower of Jesus.  The Christian faith is what inspires and challenges me to live life to the fullest, just as it’s the safe place I land when life is too much.  The faith I know and love is the basis of this blog.  smooth stones in water.jpg

In the Gospel of John, chapter four, Jesus meets a woman at the well.  It’s the middle of the day, and it’s hot.  She’s there, alone, wanting to avoid company.  And yet, Jesus strikes up a conversation with her.  He makes her realize just how thirsty she is- for acceptance, for meaning, for faith.

Jesus still lingers at the well.  He waits for you and me to meet him there.  So he can quench our thirst.  Fulfill our need for acceptance.  Impart meaning.  Instill faith.

I pray this blog will be a respite from the cares and concerns of life… that it will point to the God who is, who was, and who always will be… that you will know how deeply God loves you.

Welcome to the well.  Drink deeply from the waters by which you are renewed.
